In order to preserve OurMark as a genuine and effective tool for organizations to recognize their supporters, we've defined a simple rule: only a person that is a part of a given organization can register that organization.
There are two ways by which we verify this:

If the person's email matches the organization's official URL (i.e. nancy@myorganization.org = www.myorganization.org);
If, after requesting registration, the organization posts our "We are joining OurMark" sign in its official Facebook fan page, and then tags OurMark, which will confirm us that registration is authentic.
